First National Bank of
Brookfield
Your friendly hometown
community bank.
For over 30 years, the Village of Brookfield was without a bank. In 1962 a
group of ten businessmen founded the First National Bank of Brookfield,
located in the Grand Boulevard business district. The bank was established
during a period of rapid growth in Brookfield when the local population
doubled. The First National Bank of Brookfield experienced great success
during the first five years, growing to $5 million dollars in assets
by the end of 1967.
First National Bank of Brookfield became part of a one bank holding
company, 1st Brookfield Inc., founded by Robert E. Hennebry in 1969.
In 1972, the First National Bank of Brookfield with assets of $11 million
moved its headquarters to the current location at 9136 Washington Avenue
on Memorial Circle in the Eight Corners business district.
In 1982 with assets of $25 million, Jan L. Schultz became the
president of First National Bank of Brookfield. He sparked remarkable
growth, quadrupling the bank’s size by 1996. The First National Bank of
Brookfield had surpassed $100 million in assets.
In 1997 the current headquarters of the bank began an ambitious
transformation and a construction project was begun and scheduled to last
a year doubling the banks size. This would enable the First National Bank
of Brookfield to add additional services to our customers such as
Investment and Trust Services.

January 2003, First National Bank of Brookfield purchased land in
